Grade Morgan Mare
Harley was a very special mare. She was purebred Morgan of Rimlo breeding, but was never registered. She was twice rescued from slaughter, the second time coming to live at Grapevine Farm, with the help of Wendy LeGate, Susan Larson, and other Morgan friends. She quickly became a priceless member of the family. She was a wise and kind herd leader, with a gift for nurturing. She took over babysitting duties when Tiggy passed. Any horse who was new to the farm, or who was having problems in the herd, was turned out with Harley, who quickly helped them adjust. Harley lovingly cared for Mae in the last days of her life. Harley died suddenly of pancreatitis, and is buried on the farm. I am grateful for the privilege of knowing and loving her, and miss her. Thank you, Harley, for all you did.
