Mae was a red roan Appaloosa mare, bred for racing.  I rescued her when the PMU farm she belonged to shut down. She came to me bred, and produced a lovely daughter, Mae Be a Blue Moon.  Sadly, Mae's legs had been badly damaged in her early racing career.  Only after Blue was weaned did she let me know how much she was hurting, and she seemed unwilling to go on.  There was no way to make her comfortable, and no hope of rehabilitating her injuries, so I let her go. She is now running like the wind as she was born and bred to do.
