Licorice is the anchor of the broodmare band. She is one of the finest of Gary Wallace's Coal Creek breeding. Coal Creek Dallas, her son by Casual Sir Jackson, now deceased, produced a number of athletic offspring of his own. Three of Licorice's daughters have been added to the Grapevine broodmare band. She is what a Morgan mare should be. Everyone who knows me has heard the "Licorice story" - she was at the vet clinic for an ultrasound, and when she stepped off the trailer, a woman in the parking lot took one look at her and exclaimed, "OH! That's a Morgan!" Which is exactly what I want people to say when they see a Grapevine Morgan.
